Melon Computer (melon.computer) was an online community and virtual art gallery. It was primarily known for its Minecraft server and Mastodon instance.
The Melon Computer Minecraft server had a map with virtual museums where several events were organized, as well as a long-running survival map.
Melon Computer held open calls for art exhibitions in Minecraft. These exhibitions had gallery opening events that took place in the game and were streamed to YouTube. The opening events included DJ performances where the music would stream live on the website — while players attended virtual clubs that were built close to the museums.
The Minecraft worlds are now archived on melon.computer, where they can be downloaded and imported as single player worlds.
